SWINE VALIDATION INFORMATION 

County Validation Information

Market Swine must be validated for the Parker County Livestock Show. Dates are below:

4/2 - WHS AG Barn - 4:30 - 6:30 pm

4/6 - Sherriff's Posse - 8-10 am

If you are validating registered gilts you MUST give your Ag Teacher or County Extension Agent a color copy of those registration papers to be uploaded online.  Reach out to your advisors now for their respective deadline.

Validation orders for:
24-25 ALL Major Stock Show - Steers
24-25 Registered Breeding Heifers (another will be offered in October. Unused June tag orders will carry over to October) - 1 exhibitor per animal, color copy of papers required. ***Heifers will now be tagged***
2024 State Fair of Texas
- Lambs and goats validated during the 2024 State Fair Validation Period WILL BE ELIGIBLE for 2025 Spring Major Shows. Market animals validated for the 2024 State Fair will carryover for 2025 Spring Major Shows. Once validated, the project MUST stay in the care of the exhibitor that project is validated to; if the exhibitor chooses to sell the project to a new exhibitor, the new exhibitor MUST REVALIDATE the project within the next validation period.
Breeding/commercial lamb and goat requirements for STFR.
The State Fair of Texas is requiring validation for registered breeding sheep, registered breeding goats, wether/commercial dams, and wether commercial does.
Market Lamb - May be validated by family (validation will carry over to 2025 spring majors)
Market Goats - May be validated by family (validation will carry over to 2025 spring majors)
Wether Dams - May be validated by family - validation good for 3 years unless change of ownership.
Wether Does - May be validated by family - validation good for 3 years unless change of ownership.
Registered Breeding Sheep - ***may be family validated if all exhibitors are listed on papers***, color copy of papers required at time of validation - validation good for 3 years unless change of ownership.
Registered Breeding Boer Goats - ***may be family validated - all exhibitors must be listed on papers*** color copy of papers required at time of validation - validation good for 3 years unless a change of ownership.
***Please note, all sheep and goat tags (market and breeding) are interchangeable. If you ordered a market lamb tag but got a breeding goat instead you may use it to tag the breeding goat.
***Please note, heifer and steer tags are interchangeable. If you ordered a market steer tag but got a heifer instead you may use it to tag the heifer
 
PARKER COUNTY STEER VALIDATION IS REQUIRED BY 1/13/2023. MAJOR VALIDATED STEERS DO NOT HAVE TO ATTEND VALIDATION, BUT MUST SUBMIT A VALIDATION FORM TO PCLIA BY 1/13/2023 AT NOON. PLEASE CONTACT WHORTON@WEATHERFORDISD.COM FOR MORE INFORMATION.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION 

  • Validation is mandatory for certain animals to be shown.
  • Breeding animals exhibited in a junior show must be in the exhibitors name and owned by the ownership deadlines provided in the validation information. 
  • Please make sure you are aware of the rules and regulations for the shows you plan to attend. This is the Exhibitors responsibility. 
  • IF THIS IS MISSED YOUR ANIMAL WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO SHOW.
